"Had my car detailed and polished by Nathan. Overall a great and simple experience. He's very friendly and will ask which things you want to prioritize. The work done on the car was amazing quality and he also gave me some recommendations to maintain it in the future... I recommend anyone to call Nathan if they need their car detailed."  Shawn B.

Eliminate Swirls and Achieve Ultimate Gloss and Clarity

Over time, a vehicle's paint can develop various imperfections due to natural aging and insufficient maintenance. These can include light to deep scratches, surface oxidation, damage from bugs, tree sap, and bird droppings, water spot damage, and swirl marks caused by improper washing techniques or drive-through car washes.

At Shine On Mobile Auto Detailing, we employ the latest state-of-the-art machinery and techniques to bring your vehicle's paint back to a near factory-like finish, all while ensuring the preservation of your vehicle's clear coat. Prepare to be amazed by the transformative difference this process can make!

Paint Enhancement vs. Paint Correction

6.jpg

A Paint Enhancement is 1-step machine polishing process that achieves substantial reduction in paint imperfections while leaving behind a nice, glossy finish. It is a fantastic option for both older and newer vehicles, especially when perfect paint isn't the goal but revitalized, slick, and glossy paint is. This process focuses on significantly improving the appearance by removing a substantial amount of imperfections and swirl marks, resulting in a beautiful, shiny finish. It's an ideal choice for those who want to refresh their vehicle's look without the time and expense of achieving flawless paint.

A Paint Correction, on the other hand, is for those looking to take their vehicle’s finish to the next level. This method offers a more in-depth approach, targeting a higher percentage of paint imperfections during a "correction" step. The process also includes a fine-tuning step known as "jeweling," which brings out the maximum possible clarity and gloss in the paint. Paint correction is often performed before applying a ceramic coating, as many car owners prefer their paint to be as close to perfect as possible before sealing it with a protective layer. However, for newer cars or those where perfection isn’t required, paint enhancement provides an excellent balance between quality and efficiency, delivering impressive results every time.

The Shine On Paint Correction Process

1

Clean Wheels, Tires, & Wheel Arches

We begin the detailing process by thoroughly cleaning the wheel faces, wheel barrels, tires, and inner fender liners.

2

Foam, Rinse, Foam followed by Gentle "Hand" Wash

Your vehicle is covered in a thick layer of foam, rinsed of dirt and grit, and then foamed again before a gentle hand wash.

3

"Clay Bar" and Iron Decontamination

We utilize the latest technology to "clay bar" while simultaneously removing iron (fallout) contaminants from your paint.

4

Step 1: Compound Phase (Correction)

Using a machine polisher, cutting disc, and compound, we safely remove most of the swirls and scratches from your paint.

5

Step 2: Polishing Phase (Polish)

This phase focuses on enhancing shine and clarity by polishing out micro-scratches left from the compound phase.

6

Polish Removal

Gently remove polish residue with a rinseless wash dampened microfiber towel followed by a dry towel and inspect the paint.

7

Apply Paint Protection

Based on your selection, we apply a protective sealant, or a durable ceramic coating to safeguard the paint and enhance the gloss.

8

Dress Tires, Plastic & Trim

We enhance the exterior by dressing tires, fenders, and most plastic and trim pieces to a uniform, non-greasy black finish.

9

Clean Exterior Windows & Mirrors

All exterior glass surfaces, including windows and mirrors, are cleaned to a streak-free shine.

10

Final Touch-Ups

We conduct a final inspection of the exterior surfaces and address any areas that need additional attention.

Do you offer ceramic coatings?

We offer a range of ceramic coatings, from premium permanent options to more economical 5-year coatings, all designed to protect your paint from harsh weather conditions and environmental damage. For more details, check out our ceramic coating options. If you prefer, we also provide traditional sealant applications at no extra cost.

How long do the results last?

After completing paint correction, maintaining the finish is essential. Think of it like keeping your vehicle in top shape with regular exercise. Proper and routine washing and drying are crucial to preserving the swirl-free, glossy appearance of your paint. Without proper care, imperfections can return, requiring another round of correction.

How long does it take?

Our full exterior detail w/ paint enhancement services typically take between 3 to 4 hours, while more extensive paint correction can be completed in 4 to 6 hours—much faster than the days-long process often associated with other detailers. We focus on delivering high-quality results efficiently, right at your doorstep.

What tools and products do you use?

At Shine On Mobile Auto Detailing, we keep things simple and effective by using a complete polishing system from a single trusted brand. This system includes three types of pads: one for cutting, one for intermediate work that cuts and finishes, and one for the final "jeweling" process. Everything—from the polishes to the 25mm Dual-Action polisher, which features the largest throw in the industry, to our rotary polishers—is designed to work together as a system. This ensures that we achieve consistently superior results, giving your vehicle the highest level of shine and clarity.

What’s the difference between wax and paint correction?

Waxing does not remove swirls or scratches; it only masks minor imperfections and can be completed in a few hours. In contrast, paint correction involves carefully polishing the paint to remove swirls and scratches, resulting in a stunning, mirror-like shine. This process is more time-intensive.
